WHERE CLINICAL CARE, MOVEMENT AND WELLBEING COME TOGETHER TO MAKE CHANGE THAT LASTS
NECK PAIN TREATMENT
IN WEST AUCKLAND
Neck pain is one of the most common musculoskeletal complaints in New Zealand, affecting everyone from office workers and students to tradies, parents and athletes. It may begin suddenly after sleeping awkwardly, stress, sport or injury, or gradually build over time through posture, repetitive strain and tension. Neck pain can also contribute to headaches, shoulder tightness, jaw tension and pain travelling into the arm.
At Waitākere Health Hub we take an integrated approach to neck pain treatment, combining hands-on care, rehabilitation and recovery support to help reduce pain, improve movement and restore long-term function. Depending on your presentation, treatment may include osteopathy, acupuncture, massage therapy, clinical Pilates or wellness support. No GP referral is needed, and if your symptoms are injury-related, we can often lodge your Accident Compensation Corporation claim in clinic.

HOW WE TREAT NECK PAIN
osteopathy for neck pain
Osteopathy focuses on improving movement and reducing strain through the neck, upper back, ribs and surrounding muscles. Treatment may include mobilisation, articulation, stretching and soft tissue techniques to help improve mobility, reduce pain and support recovery.
acupuncture for neck pain
Acupuncture helps relax tight muscles, reduce pain sensitivity, increase range of motion and support the nervous system’s regulation of inflammation and tension. Electro-acupuncture guasha and cupping are commonly used alongside traditional acupuncture techniques for persistent neck and shoulder tightness.
massage therapy for neck pain + shoulder tension
Massage therapy helps release muscular tension through the neck, shoulders and upper back that commonly contribute to pain and headaches. Treatment may also support stress reduction and nervous system down-regulation.
clinical pilates + rehabilitation
Rehabilitation focuses on improving posture, upper back support, neck mobility and movement habits that may contribute to recurring pain. Strengthening and movement retraining are essential in helping improve resilience and reduce future flare-ups. As well as breathing practices.

shockwave therapy for neck pain
In some chronic cases, shockwave therapy may be used to target stubborn muscular tightness and tendon-related pain through the upper trapezius, shoulder or upper back regions contributing to neck dysfunction.
infrared sauna + wellness room
Infrared sauna and wellness therapies may help support circulation, relaxation and recovery - particularly for people experiencing stress-related tension or persistent muscular tightness.
cross discipline care
Some people respond best to a single therapy, while others benefit from combining modalities such as osteopathy and massage, or acupuncture alongside rehabilitation. Our practitioners work collaboratively to help find the approach that best supports your body and goals.
