WHERE CLINICAL CARE, MOVEMENT AND WELLBEING COME TOGETHER TO MAKE CHANGE THAT LASTS
RELIEVE PAIN AND RESTORE MOVEMENT
Osteopathy is hands-on, whole-body healthcare for pain, injury and stiffness. At Waitākere Health Hub on Lincoln Road, our registered osteopaths help people across Henderson and West Auckland move better, feel better and recover faster - whether you're managing an ACC injury, a niggling back, a pregnancy ache or a long-running tension that just won't shift. No GP referral is needed, and we're ACC registered so most accident-related visits are subsidised.

WHAT IS OSTEOPATHY
Osteopathy is a manual therapy that treats the body as a connected whole, rather than treating only the part that hurts. Your osteopath uses gentle hands-on techniques - soft tissue work, joint mobilisation, stretching and articulation - to release tension, restore movement and support your body's own ability to heal. Osteopaths in New Zealand are primary healthcare practitioners, regulated by the Osteopathic Council of New Zealand, with a four-year university degree and ongoing professional development.
Where physiotherapy often focuses on a single injured area with exercises, osteopathy looks at how the whole body is moving and asks why one part is under strain. A sore shoulder might come from how your hips sit. A persistent headache might come from your neck. Treating the cause, not just the symptom, is what makes osteopathy effective for stubborn problems that haven't responded to other care.
HOW DOES AN OSTEOPATHY SESSION WORK?
Your osteopath begins with a thorough conversation - your symptoms, medical history, past injuries, lifestyle and any medications. Because osteopathy takes a whole-body approach, you might be asked about areas that seem unrelated to why you came in. That's deliberate; it's how the cause is found.
Next is a physical assessment: posture, joint mobility, muscle tension, range of movement, and clinical tests where helpful. Once your osteopath has explained what's going on, hands-on treatment usually starts in the same visit - gentle, considered, and adapted to what your body needs that day.
