WHERE CLINICAL CARE, MOVEMENT AND WELLBEING COME TOGETHER TO MAKE CHANGE THAT LASTS

HELPING THE BODY UNWIND AND RECOVER
Massage is one of the simplest, most effective ways to feel better in your body. At Waitākere Health Hub on Lincoln Road, our experienced massage therapists deliver therapeutic, deep tissue, remedial and relaxation massage tailored to what your body needs that day - from a post-injury knot to a long week of desk-driven tension.
MASSAGE STYLES OFFERED
therapeutic / remedial massage
Remedial and therapeutic massage uses targeted techniques to ease muscular tension, improve mobility and support recovery from pain, injury or physical strain, with treatment adapted to your individual needs.
deep tissue massage
Deep-tissue massage uses slow, firm pressure to work into deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue, helping release persistent tension, improve movement and relieve areas of muscular tightness.
sports massage
For active bodies - pre-event, post-event or in the rebuild phase. Combines deep pressure, stretching and mobility work to reduce muscle soreness, improve recovery and prevent injury. Great for runners, gym-goers, cyclists, climbers, weekend rugby teams, and anyone training towards an event.

pregnancy massage
Pregnancy-safe massage in side-lying or supported positions, focused on the lower back, hips, shoulders and legs - the places that carry most of the load. Wonderful for pelvic girdle pain, restless legs, sciatica and the general fatigue of growing a small human.
relaxation massage
Slower, lighter, full-body massage designed to switch your nervous system from flight-or-fight into rest-and-restore. Perfect when stress is the main thing your body is carrying.
manual lymphatic drainage
A gentle, rhythmic hands-on therapy designed to support the body’s lymphatic system - an important part of immune function and fluid balance. Using light, precise movements, it encourages the flow of lymph fluid, helping to reduce swelling, clear metabolic waste, and support tissue healing. Often used in post-surgical care, injury recovery, and conditions involving fluid retention, MLD can also promote a sense of calm by engaging the parasympathetic nervous system. The treatment is slow and non-invasive, working with the body’s natural rhythms to restore balance and support overall wellbeing. Call Tania for more information

WHAT TO EXPECT

DURATION
Generally we offer 60 minute massages but we can do 90 minutes if required.

BEFORE THE MASSAGE
Your therapist will spend a few minutes asking about your goals for the session, where you're carrying tension, any injuries or health conditions, and your pressure preference. Mention anything they should know - pregnancy, recent surgery, skin conditions, blood thinners, areas to avoid.

WHAT TO WEAR
Most people undress to their underwear and lie on the table under a sheet and blanket. You'll only ever be uncovered in the area being worked on. If you're more comfortable staying in clothing - leggings and a t-shirt, for example - that's completely fine. Your therapist will step out while you change.

DURING THE MASSAGE
Pressure is collaborative. Tell your therapist if anything is too firm, too light, painful in a not-helpful way, or just hitting the spot. Massage should feel intense at the right depth, but never painful. Breathing slowly through firm work helps the muscles release

AFTERWARDS
Drink plenty of water for the rest of the day. Some people feel a little tender the next day, similar to gentle exercise - that's normal and usually passes within 24 to 48 hours. Gentle movement and warm showers help. If you've had deep work, avoid heavy training for the rest of the day.

SHOULD I BE SORE THE NEXT DAY?
Mild soreness for 24–48 hours can happen after a deeper massage, similar to a workout. Drinking water, light movement, and a warm shower or magnesium bath all help. If you're noticeably sore, mention it next time and we'll dial pressure back.
