This is a private space in Henderson, West Auckland, designed around two of the most evidence-backed wellness therapies you can do for yourself: infrared sauna and red light therapy. WHAT'S INSIDE THE WELLNESS ROOM

INFRARED SAUNA
Our infrared sauna uses far-infrared heat to warm your body directly - gently and from within - rather than heating the air around you like a traditional Finnish sauna. That means a deeply detoxifying sweat at lower, more comfortable temperatures (around 45–65°C). Most people find it relaxing rather than gruelling, and even those who avoid traditional saunas find an infrared session approachable.
Sessions run 30 to 45 minutes. You're alone in your private room with music, a towel, and a glass of water. Sweat. Breathe. Switch off.

RED LIGHT THERAPY
Our full-body red light panel delivers specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light that your cells use as a kind of biological fuel. The mechanism - known as photobiomodulation - supports cellular energy production (ATP), reduces inflammation and promotes the body's own repair processes. There's no heat, no UV, no risk of burning. You stand or sit comfortably in front of the panel for 10 to 20 minutes, eyes closed, doing nothing.

WHAT PEOPLE USE THE
WELLNESS ROOM FOR
INFRARED SAUNA BENEFITS
-
Muscle and joint pain relief - eases lower back pain, arthritis stiffness and sore muscles after training
-
Sports and post-injury recovery - supports circulation and reduces delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS)
-
Cardiovascular conditioning - regular sauna use is associated with improved heart health markers
-
Stress relief and parasympathetic recovery - switches the nervous system out of fight-or-flight
-
Better sleep - many people sleep deeper on sauna nights
-
Detox sweating - supports the body's natural elimination pathways
-
Skin clarity - increased circulation brings nutrients to the surface; many notice a glow within a few sessions
RED LIGHT THERAPY BENEFITS
-
Skin health - supports collagen production, evens skin tone and reduces fine lines
-
Acne, eczema and rosacea support - calms inflammation in the skin
-
Faster muscle recovery - reduces post-workout soreness and supports tissue repair
-
Joint pain and tendinopathy - eases inflammation in stubborn niggles like Achilles, tennis elbow and plantar fasciitis
-
Hair follicle support - shown to encourage growth in androgenetic hair thinning
-
Energy and mood - many users report better daytime energy and gentler moods after a course of sessions
-
Sleep - non-glaring red wavelengths support natural circadian rhythm, particularly for evening sessions
Note: We use careful, supportive language because that's what the evidence allows. Both therapies have meaningful research behind them, particularly for muscle recovery, skin and stress; effects are cumulative and most clients notice real change over a course of sessions rather than after a single visit.
layering the two - our 'reset' session
Many of our regulars combine both therapies in one visit. The most popular sequence: 10–15 minutes of red light first (cells primed and inflammation calmed), then a 30-minute infrared sauna (deeper sweat, deeper relaxation). Total visit: about 45–55 minutes. Walk out feeling like yourself again.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Booking and arrival Book your session through the Fit by Wix app (see the studio landing page for join steps). Arrive five minutes early so you have time to settle in. We'll show you to your private wellness room, talk you through the controls, and leave you to it.

WHAT TO WEAR AND BRING
For the sauna: swimwear, light shorts and a top, or simply a towel. We provide clean towels, a robe and water. For red light therapy: your skin needs direct exposure to the light to get the benefit - most people wear underwear or swimwear and uncover the area they'd like treated. The room is fully private so you can choose what's comfortable.

DURING THE SESSION
Listen to your body. Step out of the sauna any time if you feel too warm. For red light, simply rotate every few minutes if you want the panel to reach front and back. There's a glass of cool water and a chilled cloth waiting for you at the end.

SAFETY, HYGIENE AND PRECAUTIONS
The Wellness Room is wiped down and the towels replaced between every booking. There are a few situations where it's worth checking with your GP before your first visit: pregnancy (sauna is generally avoided in the first trimester; red light is often fine), uncontrolled high blood pressure, recent surgery, photosensitive medication, active skin cancer, or implanted electronic devices. Mention any medical conditions when you book and we'll guide you on what's appropriate.

PRICING AND HOW TO BOOK
Wellness Room sessions are bookable individually as casual sessions, in 5- or 10-session packs, or as part of our monthly studio membership. ACC-funded clients can layer wellness sessions alongside their clinical pilates rehabilitation programme. All bookings run through the Fit by Wix app. New here?
